After more than a week of prep work, it’s finally time for paint. We quarantined the truck to keep out dust and other debris.
We decided on PPG paints because of their reputation. At $180 per gallon, this stuff isn’t cheap. but it’s worth it due to the quality. We applied primer to the body.
Now time for paint. We used Pantone 201C, the official color of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Look close and you’ll see me in the first picture. This gives you an idea of the size of this truck – it’s huge. The over-spray on the paint was more noticeable than on the primer. All-in-all, I think the paint job turned out really well.
